Are there a load of household tasks you would rather be without? Do you look around and not know where to start?
I have a whole load of brilliant cleaning tips that we use to clean all types of items, quickly, easily and effectively. After all, one of the most depressing things is to spend your time trying to get something looking really beautiful and look at it once it's done and wonder why you bothered. Sometimes, just the odd little trick can work wonders and a lot of the items I use are freely available in your own home, often a lot cheaper and more effective than chemical-laden shop-bought alternatives.
I am going to focus on white vinegar today.
Some great uses:
Glass and Mirrors - clean with equal parts of white vinegar and warm water. Dry with a soft cloth - Leaves windows and glass clean and smear free.
Blinds - oh how we all hate the build up of dust and dirt on blinds - but they can be difficult to clean. Try putting on a paid of cotton gloves. Dip your fingers in equal parts vinegar and hot water and run your fingers along both sides of each slat. Periodically wash off the fingers of the gloves and just see how much cleaner those blinds are.
Ceramic Tiles - Mix up one part vinegar to three parts water and use the solution to produce clean, sparkling tiles - this solution will also help preserve the colour of the grout.
Microwave Odours - Have you got some lingering odours in your microwave. Try boiling a small amount of vinegar in a microwave-proof bowl or cup in the microwave to get rid of those nasty smells.
Microwave Cleaning - A bowl filled with 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water - boiled in the microwave to boiling will start the cleaning process off. When the liquid cools, use it to wipe around the microwave for a really clean and healthy appliance.
